Garbage sorting is popularized in Drohobych. Here, on the basis of Gymnasium No. 5, tanks for sorted raw materials will be installed and presses for compressing plastic bottles will be purchased.
This became possible thanks to the cooperation of the public organization "Bery and Slav", which is represented by the spouses Natalia and Serhiy Starodubtsiv and activist Svyatoslav Stepyak, the founder of the public sorting station “Dro Eco. Logical”, representative of the NGO "Proryv-Misto". The organizers presented the joint project 27 December in the Action Center.
About joint work
An ambitious project will be implemented in Serhiy Kulchytsky gymnasium No. 5 - a mini station for sorting garbage will be installed there. The project is implemented thanks to a grant from the International Renaissance Foundation (with the financial support of Sweden), which was won by the NGO "Bery and Slav" (m. Berislav, Kherson region) and "Proryv-misto" NGO (Drohobych).
Both public organizations are actively engaged in that, that are studying and trying to solve the issue of waste sorting in the city, as well as raising the level of eco-culture among the population and training young people in separate sorting of solid waste.

In Drohobych, on the basis of gymnasium No. 5 named after Hero of Ukraine S. Kulchytsky, with the funds of the International Renaissance Fund (Sweden) eco-activists are implementing an environmental project - a public sorting station "Dro.Eko.Logicnychny". The project is implemented by public organizations "BERY and SLAV" (m. Berislav, Kherson region) and "Breakthrough City" (Drohobych) together with the management of the gymnasium. Today, in the premises of the Action Center, representatives of public organizations presented the project to local media in the format of a press conference.
It should be noted, that both NGOs have been implementing environmental initiatives for a long time, are engaged in the popularization of the ecological approach in matters of waste disposal, encourage youth to build skills

As noted by the organizers, the goal of the project is to create and implement a systematic approach to waste sorting and proper handling of solid waste, increasing the eco-awareness of the population.
