With the beginning of the war, we moved to Drohobych. Here, in the first months, we were engaged in, who actively volunteered, and then decided to continue doing that, what we can do and what benefits the community - they wrote grants. Also, it was in Drohobych that we met the eco-activist Svyatoslav Stepiak and jointly won a grant for the implementation of an interesting eco-project in one of the schools of your city, - said Natalia Starodubets.

The problem of environmental pollution due to spontaneous landfills and landfills, where solid waste is stored is one of the most painful for every corner of Ukraine. Already today it has accumulated close 15-20 billion m3 of waste, that cover 7% the territory of our country. This number only increases every year. So that "household waste does not take us by the throat", it is necessary to take seriously the problem of waste sorting and recycling and implement this process in every community.

An eco-activist is taking active steps in this direction in Drohobych, Svyatoslav Stepyak, member of the NGO Proryv-mysto. On his initiative, the idea of a public mini-sorting station on Viytivska Gora Street was implemented in the city. Therefore, a mini-sorting station will also be installed in gymnasium No. 5 together with the NGO "Bery and Slav".

The goal of the new project is to introduce a mini-sorting station on the school grounds, involve students in this process, teachers and parents. And thereby increase their eco-awareness. In this way, eco-culture will spread throughout the city, and I hope that other educational institutions and communities will want to adopt our example., Svyatoslav Stepyak emphasized.

To implement the project, it is planned to install a mini-sorting station in the educational institution 16 containers. Mini containers for waste sorting will be delivered directly to the educational institution, others - on a specially equipped playground near the school yard. In this way, the younger generation will sort the garbage and become a good example for the residents of the nearby streets, how to deal with solid waste.

Let's add, In recent years, Drohobych has also been taking active steps in the direction of waste sorting - containers for pet bottles have been installed at waste sites in the city, and also with the support of the Latvian company Eco Baltia Vide, Drohobych received several dozen containers for sorting household waste. Sites for separate sorting of waste are being set up. Garbage was also removed from Haydamatska Street, where, during the garbage crisis, a site was created for waste retention and overloading. The municipal landfill in the village of Bronytsia is being brought back to normal. The logistics of garbage collection and removal in the community have been developed.
